Does online learning have the potential to replace traditional learning?
Today, I would like to discuss about the two modes of learning and finally come up with a conclusion as to which one is better. I actually wrote this months back for school purposes but I thought that since it is a controversial question nowadays, why not use it?! After all, they are my own views though I’ve made some structural and grammatical corrections.
At the peak of the covid era when hasty measures were being taken, virtual learning turned out to be the sole option left for the students. This method has its own pros and cons.
Now, if we talk about the perks of taking online classes, we can attend classes in solace, no matter where we are because we don’t have to commute long distances. We can wake up late and simply open up our devices and join the meeting. Whereas taking classes usually means getting ready as per a dress code, reaching the class at a particular time, sitting through a somewhat lengthy lecture and then going directly to the next class. However, online learning provides periodic breaks and there is no specific dress code or uniform. Adding to this, we can very easily communicate with our teachers for any queries by sending them a direct WhatsApp message or calling them. Also, there is a wide array of online resources which can play a vital role in getting our heads around complex concepts and in helping us prepare for our examinations. It also enables us to acquire technological skills as online classes compel us to step outside of our protective shells. There is a need to learn how to join our classes and submit assignments and tests through the medium of various online platforms. This not only helps us to boast about our tech-savviness but also would help us a great deal in this cyber world.
Despite of a large number of advantages, online classes also have drawbacks.
- Firstly, it becomes difficult to focus on screens for an enormous amount of time. We often get deviated at the hands of social media platforms and tend to spend time on them instead of being attentive in the classes. For instance, if we get a call in between we may answer it and start talking and put the class on hold.
- Moreover, online learning requires stable internet connection. Due to excess usage of internet all over the world, the net quality is worsening day by day.
- We can embibe a lot from our peers. However, e-learning keeps us from doing so and hampers our social development. This has resulted in a gradual decline in human connections. Although this is very beneficial for anti-social people like me (lol!) but it has a bad side for us as well because in the long run, to live life we need to intereact with people and this way we won’t be able to get accustomed to maintaining relations with the world. Also, don’t we miss our friends and the notorious school mischiefs? Of course, we do and it further requires our education system to retain its normalcy.
To conclude, no one actually wins because each of the modes has its set of advantages and we can use them as per our convenience. I feel that a mechanism should be evolved comprising of a blend of both conventional and online learning.

How reading helps us?
Hey everybody! How are you all? It’s been a great deal of time that I’ve not blogged and it feels so good to be able to catch up with you all after so long. So, today’s topic is related to reading and its significance and vitality in our lives. Though I too don’t have a castle full of books but I’ve been trying to inculcate a habit of reading daily in myself as doing it makes me feel gratified and elated to some extent.

“Reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible”. This statement very well quoted by Mr. Barack Obama gives us a brief on how beneficial reading is. Let’s start with a very basic advantage that we all must be familiar with. Reading enriches our vocabulary and in turn, increased vocabulary makes us more articulate and we are able to put across our opinions and views in a better way. Having a good command over a language boosts up our self-esteem in a way. Another advantage is that reading broadens the horizon of our mind and it opens up gates of the world. The more we read, the more we are able to read between the lines and interpret and comprehend the deeper, layered intricacies of the text. Added to this, it may play an integral role in transforming our perception towards multifarious subjects. We get a wider understanding of the world. Also, reading helps in mental stimulation. To deviate our minds from the packed, frantic routines, reading is a great way to keep ourselves engaged and it lets our apprehensions drain away. It really is a great source of meditation. It transports us to some other realm and we feel that we are ourselves a part of the story(the main character vibes seem so utopian). Moreover, it is a fact that reading before bedtime affects the sleep cycle and enhances the quality of sleep. Not only this but also reading has an impact on the way we write. If we read good books we tend to write in a better and more poised language. Personally, I also feel books are the best of friends of introverts and placid people like me and such expressions of art help us to resonate with them. Sometimes, we tend to relate ourselves and our life struggles with the lines in a book.
Reading is indeed a priceless asset and now we know that reading gives us an entire package full of knowledge, vocabulary, confidence, entertainment and what not.
So, let’s take a pause and start reading a good book and replenish our souls for a little while!!
Let me know how you think reading helps us:)

Compassion
In this ‘swift’-paced (no pun intended; if you know, you know) world, everyone has become self-centric and so engrossed in their own tiny worlds that we often tend to neglect and sideline our kins as a result of which we have lost touch with our glorious human traits like benevolence, humbleness, integrity etc. that make us humane. To restore and to relinquish these lost gems, we must strive to improve our standard of living not by acquiring expensive materialistic things but by renewing ourselves and decluttering our minds of all the blurry clouds of fallacies and non-sensical norms and adorning the lucky asset called mind with beautiful jewels of kindness, optimism and open-mindedness. In today’s post, I would like to specifically talk about how can compassion benefit us and how we can actually be altruistic and considerate.
How can compassion benefit us?
Compassion is one of the most integral assets that a person should acquire. Having it as a quality has a vast ocean of advantages.
Firstly, it sows seeds of positivity in your soul. You tend to gain a more optimistic outlook towards life. Moreover, you radiate the new-found, dazzling positivity to others as well. You develop a good aura and give off good vibes to people around you. Last but not the least, it makes you emotionally stable.
How to become compassionate and spread compassion?
1.Help and volunteer as much as possible
Begin by helping people around you. This seems very obvious but it is the ultimate key to attaining compassion. Bend over backwards and put your best foot forward whenever you sense someone needs help.
2.Talk gently
Try to speak as politely as possible. Avoid any offensive terminology at any cost. This will endear you to others and especially, your loved ones can assure themselves that they can count on you because of your calm and sweet way of talking. This will further strengthen your relationships.
3.Be generous
Always be ready to adjust and sacrifice. Don’t be closefisted. Have a big-hearted personality.
4.Be down to earth
Be humble and modest. Don’t boast about yourself or even your belongings or your talents. Everything you have and achieve is by God’s grace. So don’t be self-conceited and vain.
These qualities may also spread kindness and people may themselves get inspired to commit such great and selfless deeds.
However, as each coin has two sides, there may also be an unintended impact of this on people. They make take you for granted or solely use you for their benefit. So, set healthy boundaries and be careful. And you don’t have to worry about vengeance because karma pays back.
These are some of my suggestions about how we can be kind. I would love to know yours.
Catch up with you next week!

Following the trends blindly!!
In the contemporary modern world, a plethora of fads are revolving around the world at a high pace. It seems so very necessary to go by the trend these days and if you don’t, you feel cut off from the world and don’t feel connected to the latter. We feel that following the ‘in’ thing makes us feel closer towards the world. But if it costs you trading your authentic self for some uncanny trend which you aren’t particularly a fan of, is it worth it? Of course, it is absolutely a paltry scheme to make yourself known to the world by simply imitating what others are crazing over. It’s perturbing and sometimes very funny to see middle-aged people going bonkers over some stupid fiddle faddle that has bizarrely grown popular. Funny because it is ironic that they proclaim themselves as adults who are actually doing childish and naïve things. Perturbing because they are setting a wrong example for the successive generations.
I have the notion that personal choice takes a backseat while complying the trends. Not only this, but also that it makes you turn a blind eye from your needs which should be ideally your priorities. For instance, you need a new phone as your phone has been functioning very slowly. However, you happen to buy a ring light just because it is in vogue and everybody has it. This can make you go off the rails and you tend to live life on the edge. Most importantly, it demolishes you and your unique identity because you irrationally begin to go by the trends not realizing if you actually like them or not. It may give you a brief period of solace but in the long run, all the efforts go in vain and you reach nowhere at the top but at the bottom in hell.
Subsequently, following the fads is only creating a vicious cycle. So, folks, wake up and be your-cute-self, carry yourself with an air of self-respect, become a pioneer and let the world follow you!

Why education strategies need to be revised?
The contemporary education system is going into oblivion. The conventional methodologies are not proving to be successful and are rather outdated in contrast to the intensive technological modernization.
When we already have a plethora of our own hassles, then why do we mull over this issue? It’s because this would affect us and our progeny in ways which we may tend to overlook. Don’t you think the ineffective teaching methods will have adverse effects on students? Of course, it would and is already impacting students. As a student, I can tell better.
I say so because nowadays, the motive of the schooling system has diverted from educating children to inculcating a skill of rote learning in them so that they pass with flying colors, graduate, fetch a job and make money which, in the dictionary of the society, is defined as being successful. However, such procedure hampers the students’ development in many ways. They tend to focus more on their GPAs than the extent of knowledge they should attain. Their critical thinking is impeded because usually the educational institutions make all the study resources available to them as a result of which they don’t find the need to think and later find it difficult in case a HOTS question comes up. Also, students’ mental growth is hindered and they are unable to broaden their horizons and think out of the box.
Adding to this, educational institutions organize very hectic schedules for the students. Even though there are co scholastic periods included in between but still they are not sufficient enough and the students are bombarded with a lot of information in quite a short span of time. It doesn’t leave their brains adequate time to process all the new terms. It also makes the sessions very tedious, monotonous and even mentally draining.
Another notable fact is that schools flood students with piles of assignments and homework. Students, in turn copy from the Internet and indulge in plagiarism just for the sake of getting rid of the cumbersome load as soon as possible. While in this process, they don’t realize the essence of the assignments and projects.
Henceforth, the need arises for schooling techniques to be modified for the betterment of students. Instead of putting pressure on them by ways of assigning them homework and projects, educational institutes should devise novel ways to make learning intriguing and interactive. They may introduce visual presentations so that with the faculty of multiple senses, the information gets embedded in the brains of the pupils. Knowledge should be made to gain from practical experiences rather than explaining only through a text book.
This is my perception about the current education system. What do you think?

How superstitions affect us?
Hey everyone! I’m back again with a fresh topic for you all to brood over. This article mainly hovers around superstitions and how they impact us in a negative way.
Things that aren’t true but are believed by numerous people hover around us. We can name multifarious of them. For instance, we should not trim our nails at night, breaking of glass is considered as inauspicious or a bad omen, tossing coins unnecessarily brings bad luck and so on……. There are so many that we can’t even count. But I wonder how people being acquainted with the fact that these are mere false beliefs still have faith in them. What’s more ridiculous is that they educate the same old myths to their successive generations. Poor off-springs!
Superstitions cause more harm than we think. Let’s see how:
Firstly, superstitions spread false information and are solely concocted on the basis of people’s perceptions. They are not at all proven facts. It not only gives rise to misconceptions but also makes one delusional and one lives under a blanket of fallacy. You rather become irrational and tend to shape your opinions and make your decisions on lines of these fake beliefs. You have an impractical approach to every situation. This leads to hindrance of your growth in every way. For example, black cat crossing one’s way is perceived as a sign of obstructions in one’s path. What if one crosses your path while you’re on your way for a job interview? Would you just stop right away just because that cute tiny creature is believed to bring bad luck? Well, if you’re, highly superstitious then you would probably even do that sacrificing your exclusive opportunity to secure a job and follow your passion. See, that does surely impact your growth; it hampers your path and even inhibits your mental growth. Added to this, myths also lead to credulity and you become compliant and complacent and very gullibly accept and conform to the norms of the society.
So, in a nutshell, superstitions should be discouraged. You can stop spreading such incorrect ideologies and you can even commence by questioning everything you find illogical or something which you think doesn’t make sense at all.
So, that is all for today! I would love to read your views on this topic.

Heights of Hypocrisy
Hi again!! Today, unlike my usual posts, I have presented my opinion on this controversial topic to bring this topic onto the center stage and lead you all to ponder over hypocrisy as this has become very common now and it’s just a contagious poison.
Hypocrisy is evident almost everywhere. People say one thing and the other moment, they casually say another thing that is completely contradictory to the first statement. In the nick of minutes, they present two diverse perspectives. In a way, it also manifests how manipulative a person can be and deceiving and deceptive simultaneously.
I’d love to share two of my real-life encounters with a hypocrite. Once someone tells me that I’m not needed by them. The other day, they come to me pleading to do the exact same thing for which I wasn’t required by them. When I quote their words to them, they simply act like they never said that and rather get upset for self-defence.
Another example which actually prompted me to draft this essay though thousands of times I felt the urge to pen down my views on this topic earlier but this was something for which I felt really awful for someone else. I won’t be able to reveal the whole story (it would create whole lotta hassles for me) but I can give the crux of it. Okay I tried expressing without revealing the identities but then it would become too difficult to comprehend. Let’s say ‘A’ is the hypocrite ‘B’ is the hypocrite’s dear one and ‘C’ is a token of love offered by ‘B’. So, the hypocrite ‘A’ bluntly refuses for C which is very heartily offered by ‘B’ and makes up an excuse for declining B’s offer. Just after a few moments, ‘A’ gainsays their own lame reason and accepts ‘C’ from someone else. I felt really bad for ‘B’. I’m afraid if you would even be able to understand this or not.
For me, it is super annoying and flustering whenever I witness such acts as I hate the pretentiousness and the pessimistic aura created by such people. I feel that a hypocrite has a mask on [though everyone should don a tangible mask for safety nowadays;)] and people revolve around this particular person not knowing his/her bitter reality. Why is that so? Because that person conceals his/her weak points and traits by the filter of hypocrisy. With the help of this filter, they succeed in catering to all and gradually winning their hearts not realizing the true essence of life i.e., to make yourself happy not to make others gratified by your actions. I pity the double-faced people most of whom are middle-aged and even old-aged who are so-called “mature big people”. However, it is contradictory as even after reaching this age they are not able to escape the invisible traps engineered by God to test them. But people being people do not think out of the box, they are unwilling to stop clinging to their small protective shields and step out of their comfort zones. That is exactly what people of the older generations usually lack- maturity and ability to critically analyse. The reason being they have a fixed mindset which hampers their growth.
Anyhow, as long as these ridiculous fellows are inserted like blisters in my life, it works for me as they continually bestow (deliberately used) me content to write and that keeps me going. 😁
So, what are your views on hypocrisy? Comment down how you feel.
