How to weave a thread of time for yourself ?

Hi again! As I mentioned in my last blog post that I’d see you next Thursday, well, it finally came after 2 weeks. I couldn’t make it last week as I had a sick week. But here I am again, fit and fine!

Okay, so now let’s dive straight into today’s topic. In this perpetual struggle to tick off all the tasks in our to-do lists and running daily errands, we tend to sideline the most crucial task i.e., to spend time with ourselves. Another phrase used for it which is nowadays in vogue is “Me-Time”. But the main question is how do we exactly extract time from our daily customary routines when we already have a lot on our plates.

I think I may be able to help you with a few strategies all of which have worked for me.

1.Waking up early

Folks, I understand what tremendous amount of vigor is required to do that. It was hard for me even and it was rather harder because I had been a night owl since forever and so it was quite a cumbersome step to take. Though while trying to take that step, I fell a zillion times but got back up eventually and I have been standing firmly touchwood. Thus, start waking up early. I’m not trying to imply to wake up at 4 in the morning but take baby steps as I always say. Say, if you generally wake up at 10, try waking up an hour early. Even doing this with consistency will help and yes, of course it would give you extra time to reflect on your thoughts and feelings and journal and simply spend time the way you want.

This quote kind of justifies my opinion.

2.Delegate Tasks

It does not mean that you get on your friend’s nerves and plead him/her to finish your pending assignments. Hah! But it simply means that tasks that aren’t so essential can be done by someone else. So, save up your time and ask the other person to do it on your behalf…. only if the other person is affable. For example, if you have to collect a parcel from somewhere and if one of your inmates seem to be free, you can politely ask them if they can lend you a favor.

3.Distractions

As I mentioned this in my previous blog also (Link to the previous blog: https://quirkytalksss.art.blog/2022/01/06/how-to-make-a-fresh-start/ ), I would like to point this out here as well because it is of utmost importance to try as hard as possible to avoid distractions at all costs. Deviations do steal a hefty amount of your precious time. So, if they are kept in control, we can potentially save time for ourselves.

4.Procrastination

This one had to come up somehow. It is the biggest time-waster. If you really are eager to save time, then you can’t move on without curing yourself of this disease namely “Procrastination”. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is extremely tough at first but you would be able to eliminate this problem if you keep persevering!

So, with this, I’ll wrap up and I would like to read your comments on how else we can take out time for ourselves.

Kindly don’t mind the errors if any. Not an expert in English. Thanks for reading!😊

  1. okay i like all of the suggestions but i also have to admit that they’d be quite hard to follow. especially following all of them together. i mean if i can do all of them, then i’d practically be perfect

    1. I know it would be tough.😬 But you don’t need to follow all of them together at once…that would be impossible. Pick up one of them and start working on it and make small steps of progression. And no one needs to be perfect, sis! Everyone is imperfectly perfect!😇
Btw thanks for reading and commenting!🤗
