As we all know, life is not a cakewalk; it’s strewn with obstacles. Hurdles in life are inevitable and unavoidable no matter how much we try to run away from them. Henceforth, facing them requires some strategies and here are 6 things you should do in order to become a decisive and quick-witted problem solver:
- Gain control of your emotions and feelings on which I elaborated in my previous blog [Click on this link and check it out in case you missed it: https://quirkytalksss.art.blog/2021/12/09/why-does-our-brain-always-stimulate-negatively-towards-problems-can-we-turn-optimistic/%5D
- Ponder about what is the first thing you should do to settle the arisen wave of obstruction temporarily.
- Share your hassle with someone concerned in the field of matter and consult them on how to tackle it. Although I hate to do this as I can’t bring myself to ask for suggestions or help, but exposure to various experiences and takes on the problem can open numerous doors for you.
- This is the most important tip to implement on yourself. Never think about the past. There is no point of repenting and mourning about your past mistakes or thinking of better scenarios in which you didn’t have to struggle with the current problem. Many a times you find yourself saying,” Oh! I wish I would have taken the other road.” This should be avoided and you should rather focus on getting rid of the problem.
- Another thing to keep in mind is to stop blaming people. You are accountable for whatever hiccup has come your way. I’m not suggesting that you are to blame for every mix up but in the end it’s you only who will have to find a way to overcome it.
- Keep thinking of solutions. A lot of you might not know this but our brain is designed to be afflicted by “functional fixedness”. It is the inability to think of a particular thing as having other functions other than the function for which it is traditionally used. For instance, we normally use a cricket bat to play cricket but we can also use it as a whacking stick to hit somebody callously. Hah! I’m just kidding. I surely don’t encourage it. I just intended to give an example for you to understand this concept better. So, Analyze the situation with a different perspective and think out of the box.
I hope my suggestions would help you transform into a resourceful problem-solver.
